Autobiography

Can the real Jason Owen please stand up...

Jason has been writing and performing his music for over 25 years. Originally from London, he started playing guitar and writing songs in his mid teens. During the late 80's and early 90's he formed a band called Brilliant Pink, who had some success in the London area. The band split in the mid nineties and Jay focused on his solo career. He has a home recording studio, which he puts to good use recording his songs for posterity! As yet he hasn't approached any labels, but is on the look out!

Equipment and Music:

He plays guitar (electric, acoustic, electro-acoustic, bass) mandolin, cello-mandolin, veena, keyboards, drums harmonium... the list goes on. Some of the songs he has written are classic indie-pop, others more acoustic. Jay has an eclectic taste in music, from which he draws his influences. Some of his acoustic songs can be compared to Steve Knightley/Show of Hands, who inspired him to buy a David Oddy Cello-Mandolin.

Other work...

It is difficult to label some of his other work, but you can hear that for yourself when we have uploaded the songs! Jay is also frontman for covers band AbaKus (www.abakustheband.com) who are a cracking covers band based in leafy Bucks. They are extremely busy, and gig practically every weekend. They are listed on www.lemonrock.com/abakus where you can find more details for them.
